7 Reasons Why Barack Wouldn’t Vote for Obama (and neither should you)

A portrait shot of a serious looking middle-aged African-American male (Barack Obama) looking straight ahead. He has short black hair, and is wearing a dark navy blazer with a blue striped tie over a light blue collared shirt. In the background are two flags hanging from separate flagpoles: an American flag, and one from the Executive Office of the President.

In the pursuit of breaking free from the system in this nation which has left us choosing between the lesser of two evils, we must realize when our representatives have not lived up to the expectations for which they were elected.

The current sitting President is such a representative.

Coming into the 2012 Presidential election offers the Democrat party a great opportunity to purge itself from a leader which has abandoned almost every single position which he came into office purporting to hold.

I have outlined the top seven (of over 25) reasons why Democrats cannot (or at least should not) allow President Obama to continue as Commander and Chief.  Given that there is currently a lacking of strategy and momentum on the GOP side, it makes the possibility of replacing the President with a Democrat challenger not only an option, but a viable one at that.

War:  There is no denying that the hate towards President Bush was a major motivating factor for the win that President Obama enjoyed.  The major trigger of that hate was the fact that we were in a two front war with no real cause for entering.  Not only was the cause for the war vague to those who opposed it, but the reason that was given would have been a reason to enter far more justifiable theaters of battle.

Obama was running on the fact that he opposed this war and vowed to be the opposite of President Bush.  His supporters were ecstatic that the war would be over, under a Obama administration.

The reality is that deployments increased under Obama.  The only pullouts have been the ones that President Bush scheduled.  Even Obama’s promise to draw all combat troops from Iraq has proven to be just a campaign promise, as the Secretary of Defense has now come out to say that we will probably maintain a fighting force there for years to come.

To make matters even worse, we are now entering a third war in Libya which was supposed to last days not weeks, then we were told weeks not days, and now, it has been described by our allies as a war without end in sight.

A Lobbyist Free White House: President Obama promised us not only a transparent White House but one that was free of lobbyists and the corporate manipulation which has plagued past administrations.

We now see that there has never been a President in modern history who has sold out more to the corporate interests than President Obama. Over 40 lobbyists have senior positions within the administration! Including three cabinet members and the director of the CIA.

I know Democrats are for healthy food, and the elimination of the corporate takeover, so they need to know that these senior positions are filled with former Goldman Sachs executives, Monsanto Executives (GMO food anyone?), and a number of other companies Democrats have been opposing for decades.

Jobs:  For a long time the Democrat party has been the party of labor, unions, and the “working man.” Well those days are over as long as President Obama is in the White House.

Even if we ignore that fact that President Obama promised the unemployment rate wouldn’t pass the 8% mark (we currently have an effective unemployment rate of over 20%), we still have to deal with the fact that his policies and practices have intentionally lead to the number one killer of union (and non-union) jobs…outsourcing.

Guantanamo Bay:  This was Obama’s golden nugget. Not only was he going to end the war, make peace with the terrorists, and restore respect for America in the international community (which he has failed at all of these things) but he was going to close down the deplorable Guantanamo Bay detention center.

I don’t mean to be a buzz kill here but not only is Guantanamo Bay detention center still operating, but there has been a near blackout as to the practices and conditions which prevail there since Obama has taken office.  I don’t want to say water boarding, but…water boarding?  We don’t know! The reason we don’t know is because the most transparent President is, in fact, the most closed and hidden.

Deficit:   Obama has promised to cut the deficit in HALF by the end of his first term.  Um, I don’t want to point out the obvious, but he has tripled it (MSNBC, AP, CBO).  He has also ran up more debt than all the previous Presidents before him…combined!

Yes, we have all heard that he has changed his way and now has an outline to correct our spending habits in his new plan, which will take well over a decade to see complete.  Well, we have all heard his other promises and none have been kept, so expecting him to follow through on something that requires him to be elected to a second term sounds more like a campaign strategy.  “Read my lips, no new taxes.”

Taxing the Rich:  The “Bush” tax cuts have now become the “Obama” tax cuts, and to a party who holds to “taxing the rich” as a pillar of their platform, the fact that Obama is reducing the tax on the rich has to be annoying to say the least. Then, if we look at the fact that GE, a multi-billion dollar a year company, is paying $0 in taxes, the obvious is, well, obvious…Obama has to go if you are self-respecting Democrat.  Oh, we shouldn’t overlook the fact that GE is one of those corporate entities that has Obama in their back pocket.

Osama Bin Laden:  The reported killing of Osama Bin Laden (which is becoming more doubtful by the day) has created great confusion for people who call themselves “Democrat” or “Progressive.” The reason being, if this killing of Bin Laden really took place, it is because Obama used information extraction techniques at Gitmo which Democrats (including Sen. Obama) didn’t want to have happen. He used the continued presence in the Afghanistan war, which Democrats (including Sen. Obama) didn’t want to continue.  And he was using the war plan (and the actual planner) that George Bush implemented to achieve this “kill.” Again, something that Democrats didn’t want to continue.

The killing of Bin Laden is the result of Obama turning his back on the Democrat voters who were opposed to the war. How many times did we hear Democrat personalities (including Obama) tell us that Osama wasn’t really important (which has merit) and now they are all celebrating because the Democrat President did the very things they voted for him not to do! Before the election in ’08 there was a debate which Obama was going to do what was needed to get Osama regardless of what Pakistan wanted.  At that time Progressives were upset because it sounded too much like Bush and they blamed Obama of going after the war hungry – conservative vote.  Now, they are pointing to that debate and saying “Mission Accomplished.”

It would becompletely hypocritical for anyone who opposed President Bush to Vote for President Obama, as Obama has been nothing more that Bush 2.0

It would be expected that ignorant Democrats (and those in media who compromise) would continue to say that the Obama that we all seen campaign in ’08, is the Obama that resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  For the vast majority of Democrats and Progressives, however, the shroud has been lifted and they are seeing they need someone else to advance their ideals.  It is one thing to see it, it is another to do something about it.

If we look at the words of Barack Obama from before he was President, we could, without overstating or exaggerating, say that he would never vote for the man who is currently President. If Barack wouldn’t vote for Obama, than neither should you.

Readers of my work will notice that I have pointed out hypocrisy on the “conservative” side as well.  It would be a mistake to believe this piece is an effort to do anything other than remind the voting public that you control the vote, don’t let others control it for you. If we continue to settle for the candidates that the one party-two name system is giving us, we will continue to be disappointed in the ability of this nation to return to a nation we want it to be.  It is time Democrat and Republican citizens realize they have nothing in common with Democrat and Republican politicians!

Note: There are a large number of liberal members of the media who are becoming extremely displeased with Obama, and that should just further drive home the validity of the above piece. The liberals in media have a track record of being very united, even when they internally have division, but the corruption and continued failures of Obama has been too much to stomach for true Democrats.  The growing tendency of this current administration to bully and intimidate the media has led even the most liberal of media outlets to voice concerns, as they see voice of the press being silenced (or locked in a closet, literally) by the one they thought would allow that voice to be heard.

  1. Great post, I’ll be sure to re-blog this for you with some commentary.

The greatest segment of the White House Correspondence Dinner was when Obama was told he would lose the 2012 election to 2008 Obama.
